Matt is back. Two wins in a row to beef up his lead over the other contenders for this season’s standings at Valley. Plus he neatly nails a skip ace on # 5 to take home $166.
Not a bad night’s work.
Matt and Nathan slipped by Brad and Robbie to win tonight 13 to 12 down on the all original course with a field of 18 players .

We had 13 players tonight playing a short front / long back layout. Mike K and Dennis Close walked off with an easy -13 to -10 over Ed Kushill and Matt Keats. Perry hit # 4 for his first ever ace! and cashed in the big 13 dollar ace pool.
Maybe we should put a net in front of that basket - that’s about 3 aces in 5 weeks.

We finally get some movement in the Valley standings this week when Matt Keats arises from his slumber to play odd man and win, make that cruise, to victory on a reg / long course 9 down to 5 down over his closest opponents. Brent and Marty tied Chad and Justin for second and then, instead of a sudden death playoff, they went head to head on the Four Moor. Brent and Marty shot a beautiful 12 (3,3,2,4) to take second. Ace pool up to $148.

Well, 15 people turned out for a Long / Long round at Cornwallis tonight but that didn’t keep Johnny Blackburn from acing # 4 and taking home the 34 dollar ace pool. Good shooting Johnny
Then Mike P and Dennis Close shot a 12 down to slip by Robbie Dunn and Jerry Roach. With this win Dennis is closing in on Ed and Danny for the season standing lead.

16 players came out on a 4th of July weekend to play the first monthly to feature the new Four Moor holes. The rain held off for us. Just two division today - Robbie Dunn cruised to a win in the Pro divison and Mike K. came back from 5 behind in the first round to pass Ed Kushil and Mike Pace by two throws. Ed and Mike had a short playoff on # 1 with Ed finishing himself off by hitting a tree on his first putt then missing everything on his next attempt.

Nice relief from the heat tonight. Playing the longs all round, 19 folks showed up and we a 12 down tie between Justin and Eric vs Johnny and Danny. After a couple of holes Justin and Eric got the best of the sudden death to get the win and 37 points. The ace pool goes to 19 bucks after Sheffield wiped it out two weeks ago and Ed and Matt kept it that way last week.

Just 12 folks turned out tonight including a couple of relative newcomers, Perry and Ken, who figured in the outcome. Ken Morefield, playing with Johnny Blackburn took first place straight out with a 17 down on the short short format and Perry, playing with Robbie Dunn held off John Sheffield and Jerry Roach in a playoff (tied at 16 down) after Robbie nailed a 50 foot side arm to stay in it on the first playoff hole and then they took it on the 3rd with a nice birdie.

Well, there were a couple of teams playing off for second tonight, on a long front - regular back format, one of the teams, both tied at a really good 8 down, won in a playoff. But listen, Steve Shullen, playing by himself, shot 13 under par. Unheard of.
Steve has never played a PDGA event, hasn’t been playing long, and kicks everybody’s ass tonight and I don’t think it’ll be the last time. This guy is on the fast track to the big time.
