nice shot Chad
Chad Goodwin walks off $189 dollars tonight, after he aces #12 shot with a nice flick that settles in the bottom of the basket.
Smooth
That shot broke the hearts of the 18 other players out here tonight. But not their spirits. The top scores were 2 teams with 16 down and 3 with 15 down. That’s over half the field shooting the freaking lights out. Come on out and and see if you can do better, wu, wu, WOW!
Jordan Coles and Lee Hilker tied Robbie Dunn and Todd at 16 down and Robbie and Todd took it on the third hole (#3) after only Robbie’s shot cleared the trees and Todd made a 18 footer for the birdie that won the game.

Another low scoring close tourney tonight as Jack Barkley and Dennis close got by Mike P. and Robbie Dunn 16 down to 15 down. With 16 golfers showing up that will give Jack and Dennis 34 points apiece and 10 points each to Robbie and Mike.

There were a lot of good reasons not to come to the BCDC monthly this Saturday, a PDGA event in Burlington, the fund raiser in Chapel Hill, and the Leigh Farms Festival.
So, just a hardy few of us got to be there for for the very first BCDC event that featured the 4 new holes at Valley Springs. Nicknamed “Fore Moor”, they feature 3 holes that are par fours, valuing placement, but give you a shot at a 3 if you are willing to take a chance. ( we had an 8 on one of them today…) The fourth is a long par 3, about 300 feet. Just don’t go more than 8 feet behind the basket or suffer a 15 foot drop off. Not many people make that putt.
Since there were only 10 of us out there, we just had 2 divisions, Am Advanced and Intermediate. Justin Stewart slipped by Robbie Dunn on the last hole (the last of the Fore Moor) with a nice three to take the Advanced. Dennis Close took the intermediate division over Haywood and Tracy.
Advanced
112 Justin Stewart
113 Robbie Dunn
115 Scott Roberts
117 Ed Kushill
122 Robby Crownover
123 Don Moore
124 Keith Sanders
Intermediate
123 Dennise Close
125 Haywood Rhodes
129 Tracy Garland

After four straight wins for Matt, Matt Keats and Justin Stewart couldn’t overcome 2 bogies and the team of Chad Goodwin and Scott Robert’s fine round of 8 down, including 4 down on the tough long front 9. Matt and Justin finished with 7 under par. Playing the long front and regular back at Valley, it’s no surprise there were no ace’s today. So with 18 golfers out tonight, the ace pool now stands at $170.

Danny Hill and Josh Friend , already at the top of the Cornwallis standings, teamed up tonight and put together a one throw win over over the tied for second teams of Jack Barkley/ Robbie Dunn and Mike K. / Jordan. Jack and Robbie won the playoff for second on #4 with a easy birdie after Mike and Jordan both hit early trees. Not hard to do out there. The rest of the 18 players were close behind. To top it off, Brent Allison walked off with a tidy 59 bucks after hitting an ace on number 17. I’ll bet it was some sort of Aviar. Nicely done, Brent.

Well, you gotta figure when somebody throws a wraith 357 feet uphill, sliding just by the chains on #18 Reg at Valley, that they’re playing pretty good. And so they were. Matt Keats polishes off his 4th straight win of this 4 event old season with another win. This time he teams up with Dan for a 14 down - 11 down victory over Jerry Roach and Johnny Blaze and rest of the field of 17. Hey Matt, can you see us back here?
Ace pool just keeps going up - $152

13 of us came out tonight hoping for the clouds to pass on by. No such luck, however, the round started off with a nice 10 minute downpour. That didn’t stop Ed and Mike from shooting a nice 15 down, edging out Danny and Jack, who shot 14 under on a short front / short back round.
Where’s the aces?

21 folks turned out tonight and we rolled the dice for a short front / short back game with a $135 ace pool that no one could hit. Jerry Roach and Robbie Dunn tied Chad Goodwin and Matt Keats at 12 down in regular play and then a CTP on the 6th pole thrown by Chad took first place. But the big story this season so far is Matt Keats, and Matt Keats and uh, Matt. Keats. This win sees Matt lapping the field at Valley with a ridiculous 104 to 49 point point lead over his nearest competition. Shoot ‘em up Matt. See the totals here.

Danny Hill and Ed Kushill shoot a great 13 down on the Cornwallis longs for a 3 throw win over John Sheffield and newcomer ultimate crossover Adam Hardy and a field of 15 disc golfers. As anyone who has played with Adam knows, he is deadly with 40 to 60 foot flick putts. Look out for this guy when he gets a backhand.
The win by Ed and Danny puts Danny in the lead for the season and Ed in a tie with Josh for second place.
Good shooting
Ace pool up to 28 bucks - valley is at $114 - come on out on Thursday and take it home
