Homegrown Tour Courses

Here are the different courses on the Homegrown Tour. The following comments about each course were provided by the course owners. This page was developed to put out a clear understanding of individual course owners requests and stipulations to play their course. Please respect their rules and guidelines. If you have any questions about the course please do not hesitate to contact the course owner. ALWAYS contact the course owner before visiting the course. This is their backyard, RESPECT their privacy.

RAMCAT RIDGE: Jamie Arnold w. 336-679-8818 h. 336-468-8081 email:riverdog@rivercto.net Yadkinville, NC. No “show up” casual play. If I’m home I’ll generally be able to accomodate folks, but since the fire, no casual play when we aren’t home.

Absolutely no cigarette smoking on the course, ever. Smoking area is within the paved turnaround circle at the picnic table. And I am very serious about this.

Trash cans are also at the picnic table circle.

We play casual rounds every Wednesday afternoon on a rotating basis with Cranberry Disco. If you are interested call 336-679-8818 days, tell the receptionist you are a disc golfer, she’ll tell you to piss off……. no, no just kidding…. she’ll either connect you to me or take a message.

Be as gentle to my driveway as you can, and by all means, be courteous to my neighbors on the driveway. Please drive slow, it is a long drive way and fast driving erodes the driveway much quicker.

For Ramcat I guess the biggest thing to remember is that I live there, I live on the whole place, walk it, play disc on it, sometimes just roll around naked on it. As I heard John Glenn say about Homegrown Courses in general, “It’s somebody’s Pride in their backyard.” Most definitely true for Frannie and me.

If it’s green and living don’t step on it, break it or otherwise molest it.

Be careful with your footing, both on the rocks and on the copperheads. The rocks don’t care, the copperheads get indignant.

This may sound odd, but please do not sh-t in my woods. My dogs seem to think they are Scooby Snacks. I don’t agree with them. If you have to go, inquire as to the location of indoor facilities.

Chuck, as far as I’m concerned, this is a super idea. We’ve both seen private courses come and go due to unavoidable things like sale of property etc. More unfortunately we’ve seen private course go because of lack of communication about what the owner expects of visitors. I can’t speak for others, but I built Ramcat because I saw other HGT courses, liked the idea of folks coming together and enjoying something we love in a more relaxed atmosphere than what public facilities can accomodate. Plus I liked the idea of a competitive arrangement where the competition wasn’t the be all and end all of the whole thing. Kind of a “have 50 to 100 of your best friends over and everyone go home happy” thing. That and having a course outside my front door.

KNOTTY PINES: Todd Gillihan 336-760-1410 Email:trgtaxman@aol.com The standing rules here at Knotty Pines is that you must have a tee time, and I must be here. Lately we have been charging the std HG fee of $3 per round $5 all day. Camping is also allowed. Ciggarette smoking is allowed within reason. It’s a beer drinkers course since players come back to the central area every 4-5 holes for another round. I try to keep the course clean, and the fairways manicured.
