May 10th, 2008 ZEBULON “May Madness” MONTHLY RESULTS

What a great day at Zebulon Community Park! We had 7 players come out to play two rounds of traditional single play on Saturday and at the end of the day Mike Carter put up a great second round score of 56 (low round of the day) to take the win for the day by 5 strokes. 2 CTP were put up on Saturday, one by the Big Z Club and one by Ron Hill.

What a great night for some DG in Zebulon! 10 players came out (Aaron was 2 minutes late and kept M_Carter from playing Cali, thanks Aaron!) and enjoyed a perfect evening for throwing some plastic around a great course. D_Silver and Chris Rose shot a stellar 49 to lead the pack on our first Monday Night of the Zebulon Weekly Points Series.

Zebulon Points Race Monday Weekly Doubles
Starts May 5th and runs for 18 weeks

Every entry into a weekly double event: 2 POINTS*
*Zebulon Disc Golf Members/Big Z Bagtag Owners 1 Bonus Point per event entered

PERFORMANCE POINTS:
Each player shall receive one point for every player that they beat during the evening of play. If you tie a team you do not receive any points for tying, you must score lower than a player to earn a point.

*Based on Random Draw Doubles (1 Pro/Adv & 1 AM/Beg), each player in paired group will receive points for their individual points race total.
Race begins on Mon. May 5th and will last for 18 weeks.

Monday Night Double Results (April 28)

With the threat of inclement weather the Zebulon Disc Golf Club Monday Night Double had a sparse crowd for the third and final pre-season event of the year. 6 players (R_Hurley, B_Layton, Ben Edwards, M_Carter, Badams & Aaron) came out to throw a few discs. In the end weather won out with 2 of the three groups only finishing 17 of the 18 hole, R_Hurley and Badams did finish and boy were they wet! Special Thanks to Ben Edwards for once again putting up the CTP on Hole 7 which was won by Aaron, he took home a brand new Star Excalibur!

Zebulon Monday Night Random Draw Doubles (Preseason-Week 2, Regular season starts May 5th!!!!) had 13 players show! Things got under way at 6:00pm sharp with weather lingering but never showing its ugly head, you could not have asked for better weather than tonight for a little DG! Terry G being the last name drawn played a little Cali doubles (he ended up placing Second playing with himself!)

The 2008 preseason got started with 5 players coming out and having a good time playing a little random draw doubles on a cool Monday evening. Big props to Ben Edwards who drew Cali doubles, he (Ben-Square) actually was tied after 11 holes with Ben Layton and Mike Carter before they birdied 12, 14, & 16 to pull away with the win.

Starting this Monday, April 14th the Zebulon Disc Golf Club will kick off Summer Doubles at Zebulon Communitty Park.

FORMAT: Weekly Random Draw Doubles

TIME: 5:15pm to 5:45pm Sign up, Tee off at 6:00pm SHARP!

COST: $4 Registration with $1 optional Ace Pool available.

The league will play through August every Monday evening and will offer AM/ADV/PRO divisions. We are currelty working on a Summer points series to tie into the league, check back soon for further details.

Everyone and every skill level is welcome! Please come out and join us for some fun flinging action this summer!

The Zebulon monthly this past Saturday turned out to be a wet, cold and somewhat dreary day for disc golf, however we had 8 troopers come out to beat the elements and throw a little wet plastic! In the Advanced division Billy Freeman and Ronnie Hill edged out Mike Carter and Keith by a total of 104 to 108. The am division was won by the team of Chris/Joey (123) over Chris/Matt C. (125) In the end all 8 players should hold their heads high for their efforts in beating the elements of Mother Nature and finishing all 36 holes for the day.
